Since September, every weekend was spent grading projects, everyday and night thinking and dreaming about my next classes, and every morning reviewing the class demo files and lecture notes… This is the story of my life. I love it, I am obsessed with my job. Only three more weeks to go. Then I will return to my other passion, my art.

Now December is only a few days away. After my final grading I am looking forward to be moving to my new ‘studio’! My current studio space is a small table about 28″ x 32″ which one half of it is filled with my school books and laptop. That’s it. If I were to even lean back, I would touch the end of my bed! (yah, it is an one bedroom apartment)

For my new studio space, my plan is to have a table that is three or five times the length of my current one. I would be able to have several projects spread like assembly line. Wonder how much more productive I could be then …. We shall see.

“Artist HANNAH UENO, NEW JERSEY has received an Award of Excellence and Three Special Recognition Awards for her artwork in the ”11th Annual Summer All Media Juried Online International Art”

Exhibition” hosted by Upstream People Gallery.

This international exhibition received approximately 300 entries from around the world and 64 artists were

selected by the juror Laurence Bradshaw, Professor of Art at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, U. S. A.

Professor Bradshaw states this about this specially recognized work:

“‘HANNAH UENO creates with lenticular prints, photo collage and mixed media. Her work “Fortress” is highly creative. “Last Tree” is also effective and wonderfully presented. Also her “Summer Gifts” is highly developed. And “Twin Angels” is dramatically created and richly fantastic.”‘

The exhibition will be featured online during August, 2011 at www.upstreampeoplegallery.com and continue for 12 months, closing July 31, 2012.

That was the case with this one. 4 years. I put this work aside while working on my 3d lenticular series.

This is one of my deep perspective image entitled Table Series, which I build everything in 3D software, render, and finish in Photoshop. I always love the process this work takes me, however long and laborious it may seem. It is like playing in a doll house while constructing the house itself.

I have a few more sketches to add to this Table Series — portrait about the backstage of different professions.

Last Tree’s vision came after my trip to PR. The beauty of the enchanted island is also troubled by environmental as well as human destruction. While watching families enjoy their weekend at the pristine beach, I kept thinking how long would this place be like this until it is all gone. Then I remembered a movie where an invisible monster with all teeth munching and swallowing the last bits of earth. (it’s title sounded something like [Gangaleen]) When it munches, it made the sound of rice cereal sizzling in fresh milk. Now all I hear is the quiet sound of water wading through the beach making the same noise.

I think I came to the end of journey with this series… at least for now. Several works from this series were selected for juried exhibitions in US and Italy since 2009. I am pleased to add that three works are featured in Contemporary Masters Volume IV book (March 2011). This publication coincide with the Contemporary Masters IV Exhibition at the Southern Nevada Museum of Art in Las Vegas, shown April — June 2011.
